I like the slow comfort of winter - the grainy, underexposed quality of the day, the softness around all the edges in my life. I’ve been standing in front of the easel, pushing paint in hopes my hand can read my mind. I’ve gotten a lot done the past few months but I’m not sure what it was. “In winter, I plot and plan.
